This 1995 post-apocalyptic action film movie grossed $264 million on a budget of $172 million. With a handsome profit of around $92 million you could build a fully functional airport. 

The Maldives did not have this sort of money, so they knocked on the 2009 COP15’s door and got it by cleverly playing the right card – the climate change card.

In fact, they got so much that they could afford 4 new airports. The bad side is that they will only be around for another 50 or so years before disappearing under water. A real tragedy.

Climate change is also real, dear reader. It needs to be. If our climate did not change continuously, we would not survive. Climate change is nature’s way to cooperate with the sun for all life on earth to exist.

Man-made climate change, on the other hand, is an absurd concept. Mans apparent influence to overpower the might of nature defies logic. There is no way to prove it is real. If it were, then all the experts’ many devastating predictions would have come true since CO2 levels are still steadily increasing. Plants love it, the rest seemingly don’t. 

Suggestion: place a pole 2 meters into the sea or use a solid concrete pier pillar. Mark the current level accurately. Over many years the sea will still be at the same level. Simple. Uncomplicated. But you could try it and see what has happens in a decade (or two) from now. Will it be at the same level?

Yes it will, and your grandpa-aged kids will notice this too when you have departed from this earth.

It this weren’t so, the Maldives would have been flooded by now, since most of it sits at sea level. This was predicted over 30 years ago. It turned out to be more fake news.

It’s still there. Full-sized and now with more places to land than ever before.
